Programma di approfondimento sulla letteratura inglese che racconta in sei puntate la vita e le opere della scrittrice Mary Shelley e in particolare la genesi e i contenuti del suo romanzo pi famoso 'Franken - stein, or the Modern Prometheus', ricostruendo il clima storico, culturale e artistico in cui fu scritto. L'analisi del prof. Fabio Vittorini, docente di Letterature Comparate, tocca i temi principali del capolavoro di Mary Shelley messi in relazione anche con le altre forme artistiche. Ulteriori spunti di riflessione sono sviluppati da esperti di diverse discipline. Nel sesto e ultimo episodio vengono approfonditi i temi sociali che emergono con forza dalle pagine del romanzo, legati al periodo storico in cui fu scritto: il rapporto fra le classi, il pregiudizio legato alla razza, il problema della diversità e della malattia mentale.
